The United States Coast Guard has selected LM&O Advertising as its agency of record following a competitive review. The Arlington, Va. firm has been awarded a one-year contract with annual renewal options that could extend the agreement through April 2016. The account is worth $32 million over five years.
“We are pleased to be working with LM&O Advertising and look forward to working with them in an effort to support our recruiters’ efforts to exceed the Coast Guard’s enlisted and officer, active duty and reserve recruiting goals and objectives,” said Mauro Cooper, chief of the advertising department for the Coast Guard Recruiting Command.
The largest independent advertising agency in the Washington market, LM&O will provide creative strategy and development, media planning and buying, as well as digital and event marketing services for the client.
Cossette, New York was the agency of record for the Coast Guard through the completion of their last option year in September. Beginning in October, Detroit-based Campbell Ewald handled the account on an interim basis during the agency review process.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to elevate the Coast Guard’s brand and broaden public understanding of the many ways the Coast Guard protects our nation’s security and maritime interests,” said Chris Laughlin, president of LM&O.
Founded in 1995, LM&O is a full-service agency whose clients include Avis Budget Group; Sears Portrait Studio; Washington Convention and Sports Authority; National Guard; Washington Redskins; The Fairmont Washington, D.C. and Military Officers Association of America. It provides pro-bono services for ThanksUSA and Capital Area Food Bank. For more information, visit www.lmo.com.
